Fingerstyle ensemble arrangements

My lodging is on the cold, cold ground

This is an arrangement of the folk song 'My Lodging is on the cold, cold ground' - perhaps better known as the melody of Thomas Moore's 'Believe Me, if All Those Endearing Young Charms' - for simple fingerstyle ukulele.

It's arranged here for 3 ukuleles; two gCEA ukes (written with high G in mind, but either high or low G would work) and a baritone. Ukulele 1 plays the melody. Ukulele2 has the harmonies - the chords should be 'pinched' with 'pima' fingers (thumb, index, middle, ring) rather than strummed. The baritone part requires a low D tuning to be most effective, playing some simple arpeggio patterns.

The sheet music (score and individual parts) can be purchased from Sheet Music Plus.

The Bluebells of Scotland

The Bluebells of Scotland is a duet arrangement of the popular folk tune for ukulele duet. It is written for gCEA tuning; I had high G tuning in mind, but it would work nicely on low G too.

The arrangement is a set of simple variations. Both ukuleles get a turn at playing the melody and there are strummed chords, simple picking, and an arpeggio pattern as accompaniments. The whole piece is in first position so this would be a nice introduction to playing in parts!

The sheet music is written as tab and traditional notation and I am making it available at no cost on request - please get in touch with me at jennypreecemsuic@gmail.com if you'd like a copy.

Beautiful Dreamer

This is an arrangement of the song by Stephen Foster, famously recorded by Bing Crosby, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison, among many others.

It is arranged here for simple fingerstyle ukulele. It can be played as a solo melody piece for ukulele with GCEA tuning (high or low G), as duet with a baritone ukulele (DGBE), or as a trio with a third player adding a strummed accompaniment (chord boxes are marked on both parts). Of course it could also be played by a larger ensemble with players doubling up on the parts.

The sheet music (score and individual parts) can be purchased from Sheet Music Plus.
